About Me

As a dedicated psychotherapist, my path into this field was deeply shaped by personal life experiences. I’m a mother of three and a proud grandmother to six wonderful grandchildren.

A pivotal moment in my life came during my divorce. Engaging in counselling at that time became a transformative experience—it not only helped me find clarity and healing, but also revealed my passion for helping others. It was through this process that I gained meaningful insights about myself and recognised the power of change and personal growth.

My approach to counselling and psychotherapy reflects a commitment to excellence, empathy, and inclusivity. Whether you're facing personal challenges or seeking deeper understanding and growth, I’m here to support you on your journey—helping you move toward a more fulfilling, emotionally healthy life.

My Approach

In my therapeutic work, I begin with the belief that self-acceptance is the foundation for change. I support clients in processing life events, identifying areas where they seek change, and guiding them on their journey toward greater self-understanding and growth. It is a privilege to walk alongside people as they discover their strength, resilience, and potential.

Professionally, I bring valuable experience from my time working in a busy city centre office environment, where I supported staff through both personal and professional challenges. This background has deepened my understanding of workplace-related stress, burnout, and interpersonal difficulties, and informs the practical, effective coping strategies I share with clients today.

On a personal level, I’ve experienced the profound impact of grief following the loss of my adult son and a baby granddaughter. Those heart-breaking journeys brought with it a whirlwind of emotions and taught me just how deeply grief can affect the entire family system. It reinforced my belief in the power of open communication—through talking, we can begin to make sense of loss, find emotional release, and start building coping strategies that support healing.

Professional Biography

My journey in the field of mental health has been shaped by both academic achievement and extensive hands-on experience. I hold a Level 4 qualification in Counselling and Psychotherapy, alongside a Level 5 qualification in Psychology. These programs have provided me with a solid foundation in human behaviour, psychological theory, and therapeutic intervention—enabling me to support a broad range of emotional and psychological challenges effectively.

Throughout my professional career, I have specialised in helping individuals navigate complex life transitions and difficulties, including:

Divorce and relationship breakdowns

Family and parenting issues

Grief and bereavement

Anxiety and low mood

Addiction and recovery

Interpersonal relationship dynamics

My therapeutic approach is rooted in empathy, respect, and a deep belief in each individual’s potential for growth. I believe that even in our most difficult moments, we all carry inner strengths—often obscured by distress, trauma, or self-doubt. My role as a therapist is to help clients rediscover and harness these strengths to overcome personal obstacles and move forward with confidence.

In my practice, I draw from a range of therapeutic modalities, allowing me to tailor the experience to each client’s unique needs and goals.

This integrative, client-led approach ensures that sessions are personalised and responsive, promoting both immediate relief and long-term resilience.

My experience also extends to supporting clients with workplace and home-related stressors. I understand the emotional toll of balancing demanding careers, personal responsibilities, and relationships. I offer practical, targeted strategies to improve communication, strengthen boundaries, and support overall well-being both at work and at home.

A central belief guiding my practice is that every individual has the capacity for positive change. Life’s difficulties may cloud our self-awareness or resilience, but with the right support in a safe, non-judgmental space, clients can gain clarity, boost self-esteem, and make empowered choices that align with their values and needs.

In addition to one-on-one therapy, I am also experienced in facilitating group workshops and therapeutic seminars. Group sessions—especially for areas such as grief or addiction—can be a powerful way to connect, share experiences, and build a sense of community.

I am committed to ongoing professional development, regularly participating in training and workshops to stay current with the latest evidence-based practices in counselling and psychology. This commitment to lifelong learning ensures that I continue to offer the highest standard of care to my clients.
